Ages: Children Under 4
Gallery of Exhibits
An entire area designed for our youngest citizens to explore with all of their senses as parents and caregivers join their little ones on a relationship-building adventure.
Location: First Floor
It’s never too soon to fall in love with the world around us. And we’ve got just the spot to do it. Roll on a bed of lily pads, hear splashing water and feel the movement. Climb inside an egg, listen to the rain or watch brilliant colors move.
The Felt Wall is a way for our young guests to engage with creativity and promote early literacy in a hands-on, sensory-friendly way. Children enjoy looking through the felt pieces identifying letters and shapes, then arranging them on the wall however they choose.
Sometimes we forget that parents are growing up right along with their kiddos. So we created a space where little ones can play and explore while parents get – and share – info about your child’s development.
Cypress Tree Book Nook
In this nook under our majestic tree filled with Louisiana wildlife, your lap will always be the best seat in the house. Cuddle up and read a story inside the hollow of a live oak.
This exhibit engages children’s kinetic senses, and gives them a designated area for more physical play. They can explore their motor skills, strength, and balance in a safe and imaginative way.
It's always good to be “In Dialogue” with your child, each other, and the community. This brain-building gallery is bursting with opportunity for adults to learn more about the magic of every day moments in the first 1,000 days of life.
Light up your little one’s imagination with playful puppets, spirited shadows and dramatic play in an enchanting theater.
Lights, mirrors, and curtains make for exciting peek-a-boo and hiding games with extra sensory elements.
The mirror labyrinth takes this visual exploration a step further and encourages a playful and exciting way to experience sense of direction and spatial awareness.
There are way more things to do than we could possibly list here. Come see for yourself.
