At LCM, we are committed to building stronger, connected communities through active engagement. We welcome all families and children, of all backgrounds and circumstances, and offer low-sensory playtime experiences where children with sensory-specific needs can explore the Museum without the noise, crowds, and stimulation of typical open hours.
Attendance is more limited, sounds and lights are turned down, and adaptive equipment, such as noise-reducing headphones and weighted vests, are provided. When available, specialists will be on hand to help facilitate activities and provide resources.
Play With Us!
Our Sensory Friendly Playtime is now offered twice a month! Our next playtime will be on Thursday, March 7th from 4:30–6:30 p.m.! Admission is free but registration is required to ensure limited capacity.
Plan Your Visit
Social stories are learning tools that explain social situations ahead of time. Think of it as a sneak peek of your visit to the Museum! Check out our Social Story for Sensory Friendly Playtime below.
