Gallery of Exhibits
New Orleans got its magic from art, music, history, architecture, and culture. This gallery and its hands-on exhibits empower kids to make their own mark and become the mark-makers of the future.
Location: Second Floor
New Orleans Soundscape
Explore the places, spaces, and sounds of New Orleans across a large city map checker board. Each square plays a sound that was recorded in that area of New Orleans. Guests can move red pegs around on the map to listen to the different sounds of the city.
Join in the joyful song of the city with music makers of every kind. Build your own beats, strum the bass, and toot your own horn.
How many other places in New Orleans let you climb into a giant bubble? The Bubble Studio fills kids and adults alike with that childlike sense of wonder and amazement that can only come from stepping inside a bubble that’s taller than you are.
Build Big Dreams
Kids can do amazing things. And this experience lets them explore those tremendous abilities. Here kids can build with blocks and tools as multi-colored lights project larger-than-life shadows of their creations.
Studio in the Park
Turn everyday objects into never-before seen creations. Put your imagination to work in this vibrant creative station.
A bright and playful shotgun house is ready for you to explore! Painted by T. Osborne NOLA and modeled after the many shotgun houses found around New Orleans, this exhibit is a fun way to learn about keeping house.
Take the shape of the city into your own hands from the drafting table, to cottage redesigns – even through City Planning.
There are way more things to do than we could possibly list here. Come see for yourself.
