Summer in the Swamp is a brand-new camp for grades 6-8! It will immerse participants in hands-on learning and adventure, cultivating environmental stewardship and problem-solving skills in one of the nation’s most unique ecological settings.
Designed Especially for For Kids in Grades 6-8
Running in two one-week sessions this June and July, Summer in the Swamp is tailored for middle school students eager to explore Louisiana’s wetlands and tackle real-world environmental challenges.

Campers will engage in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) activities that delve into topics like green infrastructure, civic engagement, and habitat restoration while enjoying field trips, games, and collaborative design challenges.
Graduates will earn the prestigious LCM Swamp Steward Certification, recognizing their commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness.

Scholarship Opportunity
We are pleased to announce a scholarship opportunity for this camp.
To be eligible for this need-based scholarship, you will need to upload proof of income to CampBrain in addition to having your child complete a scholarship application form that will be delivered in your confirmation email.
NOTE: The scholarship registration form is not found on CampBrain.com.
Please follow these steps to complete your scholarship application.
- Create an account or log-in on CampBrain.com
- Scroll down to “Start a New Registration”
- Select “Begin” under Summer in the Swamp Scholarship Application. Be sure that you are selecting the correct week.
- Select the name of the child you are intending to register, or “Add a Child” if you have not yet entered your child’s information.
- Submit your registration and then click the button on the top right that says “Home.” Alternatively, click this link.
- Under “View My Submitted Registrations”, click “View Details”
- In the bottom right corner, under the heading “Document Upload” please upload proof of your W2, SNAP/EBT card, or most recent paystub.
- Next, check your email for a confirmation of registration. You will receive a link to the scholarship application form via email after you have registered.
