Join the Louisiana Children’s Museum and Cox Communications on Saturday, September 20, 2025, for a day of hands-on fun that inspires kids (and grown-ups!) to protect our planet. You’ll take part in our special small electronics recycling drive, meet Rocky & Skye from PAW Patrol, and dive into creative eco-activities, open to everyone, even if you don’t have an event ticket. It’s play with a purpose! Explore, learn, and make a real difference.

What to Expect
The 3rd Annual Environmental Rescue, hosted by LCM and presented by Cox Communications, turns sustainability into an adventure for the whole family. Throughout the day, you’ll explore interactive exhibits, learn from local environmental experts, and get hands-on with creative activities designed to inspire everyday eco-action.
Special Electronics Recycling Drive – Open to Everyone
From 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., bring your small electronics to LCM’s Bus Loading Zone for safe, responsible recycling—no event ticket needed.
Accepted Items:
- Cable accessories (coax, Ethernet, HDMI, power cords, remotes, USB cables)
- Desktops/laptops
- Mobile phones and accessories (earpods, cords, cables)
- Modems/routers
- Computer accessories (keyboards, monitors, mice)
- Streaming devices (Firestick, Chromecast, etc.)
- Wi-Fi devices (access points, extenders, pods, speakers)
Not Accepted: TVs, CRT monitors, large appliances (refrigerators, washers, dryers, microwaves, stoves, etc.)

- Meet Rocky & Skye from PAW Patrol – The eco-loving pups will be available for meet-and-greet photo ops throughout the day.
- Cardboard City – Design and build your own cardboard metropolis.
- Recycled Art Lab – Transform discarded electronics into works of art with help from LCM’s Guest Artist.
- Crush Your Cans – Make recycling satisfying and fun!
- Water Harvesting Heroes – Learn how to collect and reuse rainwater.
- Garden Goodness – Explore composting and plant your own seeds.
- Recyclable Sorting for Tots – A colorful, hands-on sorting game for our youngest visitors.
- Outdoor Fun – Inflatable Earth Balls, Environmental Hopscotch, face painting, and more.
- Eco-Fun Storytimes – 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
- Wiggle Parties – Dance and move at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
