Programs
At Louisiana Children’s Museum, we’re all about turning “what if” into “wow!” From our hands-on exhibits to our dynamic workshops and camps, our programs are designed to spark imagination and fuel curiosity. So grab your sense of adventure, bring along that boundless energy, and jump into a world where learning is an adventure.
Camps
Louisiana Children’s Museum offers camps to keep your child busy and engaged when school is out. Designed by educators, our camps include fun learning experiences in literacy, science and nature, math, and the arts with structured and supervised exploration indoors and outdoors on our beautiful 8.5 acres in the heart of City Park.
First 1000 Days
The Louisiana Children’s Museum is excited to announce the launch of our highly-anticipated First 1000 Days Program. In collaboration with researchers, scientists, health professionals, artists, and educators, we have designed a support system to help parents navigate the first three years on your parenting journey.
Living With Water
This program connects the exhibits at the Louisiana Children’s Museum with curriculum that advances water literacy, designed for 3rd graders. We highlight the ecosystem services provided by wetlands and explain the science behind the varied innovative adaptations that humans and animals have employed to help them survive in wet environments.
NOLA Readers 2.0
Louisiana Children’s Museum has partnered with the New Orleans Public Library and the City of New Orleans Mayor’s Office of Youth and Families to offer local public school second graders an opportunity for an engaging literacy and literature experience.
Play Power
Play Power is our embedded outreach program that reaches children in local public schools in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. It includes a curriculum and teacher training designed to empower children to heal, grow, and develop through play.
Sensory-friendly Playtime
LCM welcomes all families and children, of all backgrounds and circumstances. We offer low-sensory playtime experiences where children with sensory-specific needs can explore the Museum without the noise, crowds, and stimulation of typical open hours.
Artist in Residence
Art experiences in the Studio are provided each day and are inspired by our museum’s beautiful and ecologically-rich setting, and the themes and ideas explored in our exhibit galleries.
