After more than 30 years on Julia Street in downtown New Orleans, we’ve taken it outside to City Park. The Louisiana Children's Museum campus was meticulously designed to be a social, cultural and learning resource for children and families. Indoors and out, there are tons of hands-on ways to learn literacy, health and wellness, arts and culture, environmental education, and STEM.

Greenest Project in City Park
Sustainability is paramount. Our LEED Gold certification makes LCM the first LEED certified building in City Park. We also preserved the site’s trees and are adding 125+ news ones. A 15,000-gallon cistern collects rainwater, and the lagoon we overlook was restored to include freshwater and brackish wetland environments. The result is sustainability that is visible, engaging and playful.
Leave a Lasting Legacy
If you’ve been on our front porch, you may have noticed beautiful glass beads along the railing with names etched in them. You may have also noticed that there’s room for more. Add your name – or a loved one’s – while helping to support the children and families of our community.
Our Mission
When you make a child’s potential visible, wonderful things happen.
Support Us
Louisiana can do better than our state’s 48th ranking in childhood well-being. But we need your help. Our work is made possible by people putting their concern into action through giving. Join us and change lives daily.
