CHAIRISH THE CHILDREN AUCTION GALA

Join us at the Louisiana Children’s Museum’s CHAIRish the Children auction gala!

The Louisiana Children’s Museum will open its big blue doors to adults for CHAIRish the Children auction gala, presented by Capital One Bank. Guests will enjoy being kids again in a grown-up setting. The main attraction of this festive fundraiser, and from which the event earned its name, is the grand display of one-of-a-king, hand-painted chairs created by area artists and organizations. In addition to the auctions, guests will enjoy delicious food and beverages from our 20 gourmet restaurants.

    • 17th ANNUAL CHILDREN’S WORLD’S FAIRDATE: Saturday, March 28, 2015

      Travel the World All In One Day At Children’s World’s Fair!

      Embark on an exciting trek across the globe at the 17th Annual Children’s World’s Fair – Saturday, March 28 at the Louisiana Children’s Museum.

      Sponsored by Dow, the Children’s World’s Fair is a unique, daylong journey that explores cultural diversity in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math (S.T.E.M.).  Travelers will delight as they enjoy lively, cultural performances and explore the games, music, literature, native attire, crafts and flavors of destinations including:  Canada, Denmark, Guatemala, Israel, Nigeria, Romania, Tibet, and Venezuela.  

      “Over the course of 17 years, the Children’s World’s Fair has introduced more than 175 countries and regions of the world to children and families in our community,” says Julia Bland, CEO of the Louisiana Children’s Museum. “The Children’s World’s Fair provides children with an appreciation of what is unique and universal to the customs of our global community — making our big world seem a little smaller.”

      The intergenerational journey will begin with the Early Explorers Patron Party from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Guests will get a first look at the country exhibits and young globetrotters will receive an exclusive patron party treat bag.  Early Explorer packages begin at $100 for a family four-pack; individual tickets are $30.

      At 12:00 p.m., all adventurers are invited to join the fun. General admission tickets are $20 per person.  Advance general admission tickets for LCM members are $16 per person.  All general admission tickets purchased on event day are $20 per person.

      Please note:  The Louisiana Children’s Museum will close at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27 in preparation for the Children’s World’s Fair. 

    • FESTIVAL OF TREESDATE: TBDGet In the Holiday Spirit At Our Annual Festival of Trees! 

      Get into the spirit of the season and explore the Museum’s whimsical display of trees decorated by local schools, artists and community partners. Mark your calendar and celebrate Festival of Trees Family Fun Day, Saturday, December 6 at the Louisiana Children’s Museum. The day will begin with a Patron Brunch followed by Fun Day general admission featuring a special day of holiday performances, activities, crafts and more.
