Dr. Seuss' Birthday Celebration
Celebrate Dr. Seuss’ 108th birthday and his contributions to children’s literacy through hands-on activities and special Story Times. Join us at 11:00 a.m. for a reading of I Can Read with My Eyes Shut. At 12:00 p.m., listen to The Cat in the Hat and meet the cat himself! At 1:00 p.m., wish Dr. Seuss a very happy birthday during a reading of Happy Birthday to You. In Art Trek make a Who-ville pink clover from Horton Hears a Who or make Horton Elephant ears! Feel ooey, gooey Oobleck from Bartholomew and the Oobleck. Design a Dr. Seuss bookmark and more!

Children's World's Fair
The Louisiana Children’s Museum is excited to announce the 14th Children’s World’s Fair to be held on March 10, 2012 at the Louisiana Children’s Museum and extending onto Julia Street. This year’s event will celebrate sports and games across the world in honor of the 2012 Olympic Games. We invite you to travel to Julia Street and take a trip around the world! The Children’s World’s Fair is a unique, daylong journey where children ages 4-14 celebrate the cultures from across the globe. Our great big world will be brought down to size as children explore the games, music, literature, native attire, crafts, and flavors as they travel to far away destination such as Germany, Holland, Indonesia, Japan, Peru and more! This intergenerational journey around the world will begin with the Early Explorers Patron Party from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. where guests can get a first look at the exhibits without the large crowds. Early Explorer packages begin at $125 for four tickets. At 1:00 p.m. all adventurers are invited to join the fun. General admission tickets are $20 each ($16 for members) and can be purchased at www.lcm.org.

Fetch! Supersaurus Saturday
Become a junior paleontologist as you learn about dinosaurs from members of the New Orleans Geological Society (NOGS). Feel authentic dinosaur bones as you explore NOGS’ Fossil Collection. Dig for dinosaur bones in a sand box. Look at microfossils the size of a pinhead through a microscope to learn how to age-date fossils. Make a fossil imprint plate in Art Trek.
